Dear Stephen F. Austin Parents and Guardians,
As the new principal of Stephen F. Austin, I would like to welcome all students back to school. I am both thrilled and honored to be the educational leader of your child’s school. I believe that your child will have a very positive, successful and challenging school year.
There are a few school procedures that are important to remember to help our school run safely and effectively.
ARRIVAL: All students are expected to attend school every day. They should arrive between 7:30 am and 7:55 am. DO NOT drop your child off before 7:30 am. The doors are locked until this time and the staff is not available to ensure your child’s safety before 7:30 am.
DISMISSAL: All students are released at 3:30. Please make sure you are on time to pick them up. If you need to change your child’s dismissal plans, you must contact the school office by 2:30 pm. This allows enough time to make the correct after school arrangements for the safety of all students.
DISCIPLINE: Be sure to read and discuss the Student-Parent Handbook and Code of Conduct with your child. All students are expected to follow all district and school rules and procedures.
DRESS CODE: Be sure to review the dress code. All students are required to follow the district dress code.
YOUR INVOLVEMENT: Be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher regularly through emails, notes, phone conversations, and conferences. Your child’s education is a team effort that needs your involvement. We also encourage all parents to volunteer by contacting the office and to become members of the PTO.
The staff at Stephen F. Austin is excited about a new school year. I believe that we are all going to have a wonderful school year filled with fun, learning, and success. I look forward to getting to know you and your child.
Sincerely,
Suzy Hartman, shartman@g-pisd.org
